How do I get Traffic to my Blog – Part 1

By stephenlawes

Once you get your blog going you will want to build some traffic to your site.  One of the best ways to start building traffic is article marketing.  Article marketing is taking articles that you write and submitting them to be published on the Internet.  When you submit your articles you are allowed to put two links back to your site in the Author bio at the end of the article.  This is good not only for SEO but will also bring people to your site.

There are a lot of sites that are set up to publish your articles.  Many of them are free.  One of the best free services is EzineArticles (www.ezinearticles.com).  There are some guidelines you need to follow to submit an article, but once you figure out the process, it is easy to get your articles into the right format.

Personally, I use a paid service to publish my articles called Article Marketers (click here to find out about the services offered at Article Marketers).  The advantage to using Article Marketers is that they take the articles I submit and then work with a lot of different publishing sites across the Internet.  This saves me a lot of time which I can devote to working on my blog.  It is not unusual to get one article published hundreds of times.  Each time your article is published you get two links, and you get a little more traffic.

Here is the way I get articles together for Article Marketers.  When I finish writing an article for one of my sites, I take the article and rewrite it.  I keep the same ideas but I change the words, the headings, and the order of things.  This gives me an original article to submit for publishing.  You never want to submit an article that you have posted on your site without doing a rewrite.  It may take you a few tries to get the article format figured out at Article Marketers, but they are really good to work with, and once you figure it out you will be very happy witht the results.  We will be looking at other ways to draw traffic to your site in future Blog Consulting articles.
