How Do I Get Traffic to My Blog - Part 4

We are continuing our discussion on getting traffic to your blog here on Blog Consulting.  We have been talking about writing articles in order to help increase traffic to your site.  As you write your articles you need to be thinking about what keywords you would like to highlight on your blog.  For instance, the main keywords for this site our “Blog Consulting” and “Blog Consulting Services”.  (Both of these keywords show up on page 2 in position 16 for a Google search) I try and add these keywords into the posts I write.  (I just did).  I also use article titles to help the search engines find the site.  I have written a series of articles called “I need help with my blog”.  Right now, a Google search for that set of keywords will bring this site up on page 10 in position 100.  Over time, this site will be a page 1 return for that site.

What does this mean for you.  You need to be thinking about 4 or 5 keywords that you can incorporate in to your articles.  You should try and include them 3 or 4 times in an article.  They need to written in such a way that they fit in to the flow of the article.  For example, to just add blog consulting and blog consulting services in the middle of a sentence would not be appropriate. (Except for the way I just did, which is some sort of brilliant oxy moron).  Likewise, writing “I need help with my blog” out of context would also be inappropriate.  I think you get the point.

One last pointer, when you are writing an article, you should try and include a link to your site.  I usually do this in the opening line of my articles, but it can happen anywhere in the article where it will fit.  This in linking is very helpful in your SEO strategy.
